Born in New York City, she majored in art at Hunter College of the City of New York where she earned a B.A. degree and did post-graduate work at the Brooklyn Museum Art School with William Kienbusch. In New Jersey she studies in a Master Class with Philip Sherrod and paints in oil, acrylic gouache and acrylics, from life, at the studios of the Center for Visual Arts, the Baird Center studio, Riker Hill Art Park and in her own studio. She is a member of the Millburn Short Hills Art Center, Art Centre of New Jersey and the Viridian Print Studio where she creates monotypes.
Her figure paintings capture the energy of life and contrast the isolation of the individual in contemporary society with the inherent desire for human relationships and intimacy.
Ms. Hollander also enjoys capturing the joyful beauty of flowers with their spirited vitality and radiant color.
